How Much Does A Dollar Cost?

Writer: Crystal PetryCrystal Petry

Late night thoughts about personal value and cost...

I did something on Friday, November 29, 2024 that I have not done in yearsssss. Maybe you have not done it either, maybe you; like myself sits behind a computer or phone or tablet and do BLACK FRIDAY shopping. Well I went into a brick and mortar store. Yes, I did! I actually know better, there are so many people in there bumping into you, men sitting wherever they can find a seat looking like "I hate my life right now", employees trying to pretend like they actually want to be at work on BLACK FRIDAY. It's all just too much.

But I went to a Dillard's Department Store located in a mall, nonetheless; for some shoes. But not just any shoes. You think I would brave a brick and mortar store in a mall for just any kind of shoes, or course not. I went on BLACK FRIDAY to purchase a pair of UGGS.

As I am checking out the guy named Eric simply said, "I wonder why UGGs never puts their products on sale for BLACK FRIDAY?' And with no hesitation I simply replied, "Because they know their value, they know they don't have to put thier products on sale for BLACK FRIDAY or any other day because people will buy them. Just like I'm doing right now."

Do you know your value and cost?

This event happened on Friday, November 29, 2024 and I have been thinking about that 2 minute conversation with Eric. It lead me to think, what is my value, what is my worth? Does anyone actually know their value, their worth? Because it is clear that UGG certainly knows their value and their cost. And the crazy thing about that is, they are not bending or lowering their cost for anyone.

How Much Does A Dollar Cost?

In life, in business, in relationships do we put ourselves, our products our services, our intellectual property on sale for other people? Do we lower our standards to be like everyone else on BLACK FRIDAY? Do we stand firm on who we are and know our value, understanding that people will want you without a sale and without lowering our standards. I'm not telling you how to price your products and services, but these are just late night thoughts to remind you of your value and your worth. Understanding people will pay for however much your dollar cost.

Have you put your self on sale in any way, why or why not? I would like to read about it.

Anyway, just some late night thoughts.
